Arliss Eugene Jones' Obituary
Arliss Eugene Jones was born January 29, 1931, in Sperry, Oklahoma. He departed this life on March 1, 2016 at Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by grandparents Christine Helen (Elder) and Carter Blackstone Tyner, parents Beulah Helen (Tyner) and Ray Franklin Jones, and wife Beverly Ann (Burris) Jones. Gene enlisted in the Army December 7, 1949 and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was employed as a quality assurance inspector at American Airlines until his retirement November 7, 1987. He enjoyed traveling, training thoroughbred race horses and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughter Dolores Sutterfield and husband John of Broken Arrow, son Michael Eugene Jones and wife Sarelda of Tulsa, granddaughters Kimberlee (Sutterfied) Arnold and husband Jerry, Sarah Jones and Taylor Ann Sutterfield, grandsons Douglas Eugene Sutterfield and wife Brittany, Levi Jones and Matthew Hunter Sutterfield, great grandchildren Brianna and Jayden Jones, Addison and Hudson Arnold, Jude and Journey Jones, and one unborn Brielle Bliss Sutterfield. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be found. So he put his arms around you and whispered “come with me.” A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts that day to prove he only takes the best. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma Chapter. Arrangements are being handled by Floral Haven Funeral Home.
