Armando Lopez-Aramburo's Obituary
Armando Lopez-Aramburo, a brilliant mind with a boundless spirit, left this world far too soon on September 10, 2023, at the tender age of 27. He was born on March 30, 1996, in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California, and later became a beloved resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Armando was a young man of extraordinary intelligence and an outgoing personality that could light up any room. His zest for life and love for adventure were evident in every facet of his being. He cherished his family and every moment he spent with them, often embarking on exciting journeys to explore the beauty of the great outdoors. Hiking and basking in the beauty of nature were amongst his most treasured pastimes.
Not only did Armando love spending time with family, but he also had a deep affection for his friends. His warm heart and charismatic nature made him the life of the party, and he was always the first to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word to those in need.
Armando's remarkable journey into the world of computer programming began in 2014 during his senior year when he enrolled in an Intro to Computer Science class that utilized BlueJ software to teach Java. This experience ignited a passion that would shape the course of his life. He eagerly delved into other programming languages, such as C++, C, Python, and Lisp, through various classes and projects.
His pursuit of knowledge led him to Oklahoma State University, where he served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. During this time, he had the privilege of contributing to several groundbreaking Augmented Reality-based projects. His dedication and skills were evident in the innovative solutions he brought to the table.
In May 2020, Armando proudly graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, accompanied by a Minor in Mathematics. His hard work and determination did not go unnoticed, as he soon secured a position as a Deployment Engineer. In this role, he excelled in automating the CICD/deployment pipeline, streamlining the deployment process, and boosting efficiency.
His exceptional talents did not stop there. Armando was offered a new opportunity as a Business System Analyst II at Love's Travel Stop, where he co-led the development of an in-house tool. His contributions to the company were invaluable, and his dedication shone brightly.
In his precious moments of leisure, Armando immersed himself in the world of game development, with a particular focus on procedural terrain generation. Through this creative pursuit, he gained invaluable insights into decision trees, enabling him to craft more lifelike and captivating non-playable characters (NPCs) within his games.
Armando's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His intelligence, charisma, and unwavering commitment to his passions were truly remarkable. Though he may be gone from our sight, his legacy lives on through the memories he created and the contributions he made to the world of computer science and beyond.
