Arthur John Grossman Jr. (Art), of Broken Arrow, the son of the late Arthur John Grossman Sr. and Margaret Grossman went to be with our Lord November 1, 2023, at the age of 82. He was a devout Catholic who died on his birthday like Moses. Art was born in Muskogee Oklahoma November 1, 1941.
After graduating high school Art went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at Marquette University, his MBA from Santa Clara University and his JD at Lincoln Law School. Art faithfully served his country for nine years in the United States Navy, moving up to the rank to Lieutenant Commander, a Navigator on the P3 Orion, submarine hunter aircraft. By all accounts his love for learning contributed to his successful and fulfilling career in insurance for over thirty years.
While his interests and accomplishments ranged across intelligence and cultural life, including traveling the world, golfing, supporting the Sooners, mentoring and volunteering, his identity and character were largely shaped by God and athletics. A man of wit and insight, he was sincere and kind, but also mischievous and humorous. Art was an engaged and supportive man whose dedication to family and church accompanied with his strong work ethic made him an amazing role-model.
Art met his second wife, Sue while attending St. Anne’s church. Their marriage was a model of love and companionship, full of fun and joy for the last fifteen years of his life.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, younger sister Rebecca Grossman, and his first wife Patricia Ann Grossman.
Left to live with his memories of his life are his beloved and caring wife Susan Lee Grossman, oldest sister, Peggy Easley, his only son AJ Grossman III and wife Kiki, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. While his loss is devasting to those who knew and loved him, his wit and presence shone through his physical decline at the end.
