Wayne was a big part of my younger years. As double cousins (his mother was my mother’s sister and his dad was my dad’s brother) we were always at each others home. In fact, if one of us got in trouble, Wayne, Gail and I all got in trouble. We lived next to each other when our parents moved to Broken Arrow and were part of the same teenage group. It’s hard to remember a trip that’s my parents didn’t include Wayne to go on. While I have lived most of my adult life away from the Tulsa area, I never forget Wayne one day every year because we shared a birthday. Wayne was exactly one year older than me. When he turned 40, I sent him a birthday card filled with little 40’s confetti numbers. He told me a year later that he was still finding those damm 40s around the house. I am heart broken that we’ve lost Wayne at such an early age. He was always special to me and cannot be replaced. I know he is celebrating with Bobbie, Amy and all the other family members who went before him. Rest in pease, dear cousin. I already miss you.
