I just found out about Art’s passing. I am so sad to hear about this.I never had him as a professor, but I’ve been going to TU for the past 5 1/2 years an would often sit and chat about his “goings on” and play with Zoe. For some reason, after the first time of her barking at me (just to let me know she was the boss) her and I became friends, and she would come up to me and climb into my lap and sit with me. I’ve been hoping to run into them both, but after chatting with another professor, I realize why.My thoughts and condolences go out to Art’s family.And if you’re looking for a home for Zoe, I’d be more than happy to take her in.

Art was my friend for many years when I lived in Tulsa many yeARESArt was so full of life, wisdom, mischief and laughter. He gave so much to the community of Tulsa and beyond. He accomplished far more than most of us. Conversations with Art were always interesting and yes, he had a great sense of humor. You will be missed by many many people. I’m a neighbor. I got to know Art better the past few months, as we started going to coffee almost weekly. We would run into someone that knew him at every coffee shop, or he would make a new friend. And sports, everything from Michigan State-Michigan rivalry, to NY Giants 1960’s football. And there is so much more to his life that others have pointed out. Indeed, a great guy! His legacy will live on. My sympathies to Chrystie & the rest of his family.

I am very saddened to hear of Art’s passing. I got to know him at FSU in the mid-80’s and we have kept in touch over the years. I invited him to a reception at the AOM Meetings in August and the email was returned. Then, on the internet, I found out that he had passed about 3 weeks ago. I enjoyed my association with Art–he was a very warm and friendly person and I always admired his commitment to a wide variety of service activities. Art was one of “my” AAA members. I always enjoyed seeing him, his smile could light up the room. He was always so enjoyable to talk with, you could tell he just loved life. I am sad knowing I won’t get the pleasure of seeing him anymore. My deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.
