Gaona, Arturo's Obituary
Arturo Gaona, age 88, passed peacefully from this life on April 9, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on April 27, 1937, in Mexico to Glafiro Gaona and Rita (Sanchez) de Gaona, Arturo lived a life rooted in hard work, devotion, and deep love for his family.
Arturo spent his career as a landscaper, a craft through which he shaped the world around him with care and intention. His hands were always busy tending to the earth, creating beauty, and providing for those he loved. Outside of work, he found joy in simple pleasures: a good game of dominos, laughter shared across the table, and the comfort of being surrounded by family. His presence was steady and reassuring, the kind of quiet strength that anchored generations.
Family was the heart of Arturo’s world. He is survived by his children: Baldemar Gaona, Gersain Gaona, Mariela Gaona, Mario Gaona, Aleyda Gaona, Rutilo Gaona, Oscar Gaona, Carolina Gaona, Carime Gaona, Arturo Gaona, and Erick Gaona. He also leaves behind a legacy of 30 grandchildren and 8 great‑grandchildren, each carrying forward a piece of his spirit, his values, and his love.
Arturo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Flora Gaona, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, resilience, and devotion. Their reunion brings comfort to those who mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a committal service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Arturo’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and family. His memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the traditions upheld, and the countless lives he touched.
