Steve Horner
Ashleigh was a light in the world. She was a little trooper, and never once did I hear her make a negative comment. From first grade on up, I admired her faith and fighting spirit. During my own cancer battle of 2008-2009, whenever I'd get down in the dumps, I could always imagine her smiling through whatever came her way. My eternal regret was not finding out about her passing so that I could have paid my respects to her. I'll do that now. Of all the children I ever knew as a school teacher and of all the people I've ever known in my life, Ashleigh McHale will remain in my heart as one of the greatest, kindest, sweetest, most courageous, and lovely human beings who ever graced this planet. That grace was a gift of God. She fought the good fight, and her crown of victory is won. God bless her family with the strength and spirit with which she lived. Sincerely, Steve Horner
