Ashley Ryan Lux's Obituary
Ashley Ryan Lux of Broken Arrow departed this world on March 24, 2023. Ashley, or Ash as he was known to family and friends, was born on March 29, 1982 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Robert and Vickie Lux. Ash grew up a member of St Anne’s Catholic Church in Broken Arrow where he served as an alter boy and attended K-12th grade at Broken Arrow Public Schools, graduating as a member of the BAHS Class of 2000. While a student a BA he was a member of the Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band, for whom he played the clarinet, as well as Boy Scout, eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
Upon graduation Ash attended Oklahoma State University where he majored in Computer Sciences, something he had a natural brilliance for. His brother recall being booted from the family computer in the middle of their Fisher Price Bowling games so that Ash could “work” and how he thwarted his parents attempts at password protection by developing his own key stroke logging code to break and bypass it! His genius wasn’t always just fun and games however. In late 2016, after realizing that how many Tulsans were being arrested/having warrants issued for missed court dates due to an aging system that was unable to handle reminders he and fellow programmers, members of volunteer based organization Code for Tulsa, came together to develop an app called CourtBot whose purpose it is to send out text message reminders about upcoming court dates to Tulsa residents. The app made its debut in in the Spring of 2017. After graduating from OSU in 2004 he took a job in Oklahoma City as a programmer with the Oklahoma Tax Commission later moving on to work with the FAA. By 2011 Ash has secured a job with Valtech Technologies/Bayer and relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he remained a highly regarded and valued employee until his passing.
Out of all of his accomplishments the absolute highlight of Ash’s life came in the wee morning hours of November 24, 2013 with the birth of his beloved daughter Ashlyn Monroe. Being her Daddy was his greatest gift and most valued accomplishment, his love for and dedication to her knew no bounds.
Those left to treasurer his memory are his daughter, Ashlyn Lux of Broken Arrow, his mother, Vickie Lux, also a BA, his brother Brandon Lux and wife Nikki of Oklahoma City, brother Taylor Lux of Redmond, Washington, Grandmother Betty Lux of Paris, Arkansas, nieces Gracie and Adelyn as well as a numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by grandparents, Robert and Geraldine, Lux and Bill and Nancy Miller, as well as by his beloved father, Robert Lux, whom we are all certain met him at the Pearly Gates with a fishing pole in hand.
