Athena Lorraine Rifai's Obituary
Athena Lorraine “Lori” (Kannady) Rifai, 53, of Tulsa, OK, passed from this life on Monday, February 22, 2021. She was born in Moore, OK, the youngest and only daughter born to Carolyn Louise (Hite) Venable and Walter Lee Kannady, on September 18, 1967.
Lori was named after both of her grandmothers, Athena Mae (Billionis) & Clifford Elwood Hite, and Elizabeth Lorraine & Herbert Walter Kannady, who along with several great-aunts and great-uncles, all preceded her in death. Also preceding her were, both of her parents; her brothers, Patrick Herbert Kannady, Walter Lee Kannady Jr; uncles, Harold Lewis Hite, George Lynnvel “Lynn” Guffey, Charles Wilbur Grim Jr., Robert “Bob” Owen McDonald; aunts, Ruth Naomi (Kannady) Grim, Shirley Jean (Kannady) McDonald.
She is survived by her fiancé Howard Lemon; sons, Osama “Sam” Rifai, Marcus Rifai and wife Shelby; daughter Ashaya Rifai; grandchildren, Stellan, Willow Noel, and Milo; brother Christopher “Chris” Kannady and wife Carrie; great-aunt Joyce Gorney, uncle Clifford Hite and wife Velma; aunts, Rena Guffey, Donna Martin and husband Joe, Mary Carol Thomas and husband Roger; nieces, nephews and many, many cousins and friends.
Lori had a kind and caring spirit, big heart and even bigger laugh! She was so much like her mother, and never met a stranger. She loved all of her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren, and her big Greek family. Lori will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
