Aylo Elizabeth Reif's Obituary
Aylo Reif passed peacefully from this life to the next on June 13, 2008. At the time of her passing she was in the care of Nurse Janie Bates of St. Francis Hospice and Caregivers Betty Hall and Jo Ellen Boatright. Aylo wanted to be remembered for her love of animals and her calling to train dogs. Over the years, Aylo was active in several animal welfare organizations, including Friends of Felines and Street Cats. She was a member of the National Association of Pet Dog Trainers and was pursuing training and courses through APDT to earn recognition as a Certified Pet Dog Trainer. She was doing apprentice training under the supervision of Mary Green, Kim Sykes, and Larry Simpson at K-9 Manners and More in Broken Arrow. Aylo was preceded in death by her father, John A. Brewer, her beloved cousin Aylo Heike Quinteros and many special dogs and cats for whom she gave a loving home. Aylo wanted to specially remember Laura Robertson and her husband, John, Lynne Murtha, Leslie Harrow, Mary Green, Kim Sykes, Larry Simpson and his wife, Mary Ann, John’s sister Sue Totz and husband, Herb for their friendship over the years and their support and encouragement in recent months. She leaves her dogs Buddy, Katie Boo Boo, Kitty Puppy and Harley and her cats Apollo, Calhoun, Clover, Dennis, Gladys, J.C., Milo Milton and Tasha in the loving care of her husband John with the promise to greet each of them when their time comes to cross the Rainbow Bridge. A remembrance service is scheduled for 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK.Survived By: She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice John Reif. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Moss Brewer of Dickinson, Texas; a brother John A. Brewer and wife, Peggy; maternal aunt Aylo Matteson; and special cousins Kirsten Matteson, Inga Spencer and Elga Matteson. Aylo hopes she is remembered fondly by her surviving paternal uncles Archie and Dean Brewer and paternal cousins Dana Brewer, Mark Brewer and Vallie Cook.
