B. Joann Lemley's Obituary
JoAnn Lemley passed away on November 15, 2020, and was immediately taken into heaven with her Lord and husband, Joe W. Lemley. JoAnn was born on July 21, 1939 at the Indian Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma, to parents J. W. and Louise (Butler) Stevenson. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage. She was raised in Grove, Oklahoma, and graduated from High school in 1957, and moved to Tulsa, with classmate Chris, Barb, and Orlene to attend Draughon Business College. She moved to Wichita, Kansas for employment with Boeing Aircraft Co and married John H. Gann in 1958 and one son, Jay Gann, was born in 1961. She later moved back to Tulsa and found employment with OTASC Corp., Tulsa Vo-Tech and Tulsa Public Schools. She loved TU Football and basketball games and was a proud Golden Hurricane always wearing blue and gold. She loved antiques as a T-Town Quester, Depression glass, mustang cars, and all antique malls. She married her soul mate Dr. Joe Lemley on December 28, 1978, and both had educational careers until retiring in 1988. During retirement they enjoyed Grand Lake life where they renovated several homes in the Honey Creek area. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church, Open Door SS Class, and Esther UMW. Her memberships included TPS and Tulsa Tech retirees groups. Parents and beloved husband preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Jay Gann; Sister Martha (Zack) Hamilton; Brother John W. Stevenson (Becky); granddaughter Lauren Webb, and special great grand-daughter, Preslee Webb, and many nieces and nephews and cousins, from the Butlers, Roberts and Wilson families in NE Oklahoma. Extended family members include Joe Roy Lemley (Linda), special cousin Karen Lemley; Lucille Cains, Vickee Smith, and beloved fur baby White Maltese, Lucy.
Service to be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on December 1, 2020 at 12:30 PM. Private Family Internment service at Floral Haven.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends as kindness came to her naturally. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Susan G. Komen foundation, as JoAnn was a cancer survivor.
