Barbara Joan Bell's Obituary
Barbara Joan Bell, a beloved resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on July 13, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her late parents, Eugene B. Dicus and Betty Leora Dicus.
Barbara's life was one marked by resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She graduated from East Central High School in May of 1950, setting the foundation for a life filled with purpose and dedication.
Throughout her lifetime, Barbara wore many hats, each one with grace and dedication. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a nurturing housewife who brought warmth and love to her home. Her sense of humor was legendary, and her patience, seemingly endless.
Barbara's professional journey was equally remarkable. She served as an Executive Secretary, showcasing her exceptional organizational skills and dedication to her work. Later, she became the President of Bell Cleaning Services, where her leadership and attention to detail shone brightly. In her capacity as a Licensed Private Investigator, specializing in Bank Fraud, she displayed an unmatched commitment to upholding justice and integrity.
However, Barbara's true calling in life was her role as a selfless caregiver. She cared for her husband when he lost his sight at an early age, showing boundless love and support without complaint. Those who knew her husband affectionately referred to Barbara as a saint for her unwavering devotion.
Her caring spirit extended beyond her immediate family. Barbara opened her heart and home to her granddaughter, Misty during her struggle with mental illness, providing a safe and loving environment until her untimely passing. She also took her son into her home, caring for him after he had a stroke until he regained his independence.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed expressing her creativity through drawing, delving into the pages of countless books, and challenging her mind with crossword puzzles. Her interests were as diverse as her heart was generous.
Barbara Joan Bell's legacy is one of love, compassion, and unselfishness. She touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cared for and those who cared for her.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on as an enduring testament to the power of love, kindness, and selflessness.
