Barbara Sue Chandler's Obituary
Barbara Sue (Richesin, Duncan) Chandler passed away Friday, Oct. 7, at her Tulsa home after a lengthy illness. She was 86. She was born Aug. 1, 1930, to Argus Perry Richesin and Georgia Elizabeth (Stapp) Richesin in Springfield, Mo. The family resided in several states during Barbara’s childhood because of her father’s career as a certified public accountant. They settled in Tulsa in the mid – 40s, and Barbara graduated from Central High School in 1948. She was a retired keypunch operator, including tenures at American Airlines and Hale Halsell. At American, she met Andrew Thomas Duncan, who became her second husband on Nov. 17, 1957. They were married 37 years before his death on March 15, 1995. They resided more than 25 years northwest of Collinsville before returning to Tulsa. She married James “Bud” Chandler in Tulsa on June 24, 2012. She was a member of Sandusky Avenue Christian Church. She enjoyed art work with ceramics. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Jack Richard Duncan of Altus and Douglas Dwayne Duncan and wife Teresa of northern Tulsa County; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Short Duncan of Collinsville; one stepdaughter, Pati Duncan Robinson of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by two sons, Gary David Duncan on July 30, 1996, and Greg Randall Duncan on May 21, 2016; and her only sibling — a sister — Joyce Jean Richesin Cavitt on Aug. 15, 2015, and brother-in-law, Bob Dee Cavitt, on January 24, 2012. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:00AM at Sandusky Avenue Christian Church, 1101 S Sandusky Ave; Tulsa, Oklahoma 74112. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:30AM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
