She was born in Coral Gables, Florida, on February 27, 1929, and met the love of her life, husband Myron (Mike) Horn, while she was working in New York City; they were married for over 60 years. Barbara spent many hours volunteering in various public schools, and also being a docent at Philbrook Museum for many years. She was a consummate artist and her children and grandchildren enjoy many of her paintings in their houses.
