Barbara Jean James' Obituary
Barbara Jean James, 89, of Tulsa, OK, peacefully passed away April 12, 2023, after a long illness. Preceding her in death, are her husband of 68 years of marriage, Claude James; her parents Walter and Ruth White; her brother, Bill White; and sister, Judy White. She leaves behind her daughter, Claudia Fairless; her granddaughter, Stephanie Fairless; her grandsons, Kevin Fairless and Cory Couling; her brother, Charles White and his wife Patty; her sister, Carolyn Egbert and her husband Richard; and her sister, Julia Collins; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Barbara was born in Spavinaw, OK. As a young girl, she travelled to Oregon with her family where her Dad got a job working in the ship yard during WWII. After the war was over, she and her family came back to Oklahoma, where she finished school, got married and became a mother. Barbara lived most of her life in San Antonio, Texas.
While there, she attended school and became a LPN and worked at Methodist Hospital.
After 30 years in San Antonio, she and her husband moved to Tulsa. She volunteered at the Little Light House and was extremely active at Trinity Baptist Church.
Services will be Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Rose Chapel.
