Barbara "Bobbie" Jean Burlingame's Obituary
Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Burlingame 72, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on March 19, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.The viewing, chapel service, and committal service will be held at Floral Haven at 6500 South 129th East Ave. Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Friends and family are invited for the viewing on Sunday, March 23 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. Chapel services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK. The burial will follow at Floral Haven. The location of an informal reception will be announced at the ceremony.Bobbie was the fifth of seven children born to Boone and Hattie Griffin on November 25,1941 in Tulsa, OK. She was proud to be part of a very close family of Cherokee decent. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She married Harold Burlingame in 1961 and they raised their family in Tulsa where she loved entertaining family and friends. You could always count on Bobbie to nurture family camaraderie by hosting fun, informal, family celebrations at Ft. Gibson, Grand Lake, or her Tulsa home. Some of her other interests were playing cards, bowling with the Alley Kats at Sheridan Lanes, travelling, and spending time with her family who will miss her embracing hospitality.Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sister, Anna (Rena) Lorene McCreary, and brother, Cecil Griffin. Bobbie is survived by her two children Hayden Burlingame and wife Lisa of Tulsa, OK, and Randa Pehl and husband Mike of Lincoln, MA; seven grandchildren; Abigail Covington, Emily Burlingame, Hannah Burlingame, Emerson Pehl, Andrew Pehl, Jessica Pehl, Samantha Pehl; and two great-grandchildren, William Burlingame and Parker Crow.
