Barbara Jean Franklin's Obituary
Barbara J. Franklin was born March 16, 1934, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Eugene Grant and Ethel Mitchell Grant. She was the oldest of six children. The family moved to Tulsa where she attended Booker T. Washington High School. She married Carl C. Franklin, Jr. in 1952. To this union three children were born. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was baptized into Christ at an early age. She was a faithful servant and attended Peoria & Young Church of Christ and North Sheridan Church of Christ.On November 21, 2016, the Lord called her home. We will miss those family and friend gatherings that she made so special. Her dining room table was the place where family stories were shared, prayers and counseling given when needed along with great meals. She was always there when needed with a smile and warm conversation.Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Carl, father, mother, sisters (Clarice Henderson, Leaster Mathews, Evelyn Reagan) and brothers (Eugene Grant Jr, Ernest Grant). Barbara leaves to cherish her memories three children, Carlotta (Michael) Harding of Houston, TX, C. Hildred Joseph of Tulsa, OK, and Marcene (Johnny) Beaty of Dallas, TX. Three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the wake at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 1st, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, December 2nd, North Sheridan Church of Christ, Tulsa with the committal service to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
