Barbara Ann Jenkins' Obituary
Barbara Ann Jenkins passed away peacefully in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 17, 2023. She was born on January 19, 1949, to her loving parents, Tanzy Ledford, and Nelta (McCaskey) Ledford. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Tulsa, where she touched the hearts of everyone she met with her outgoing spirit.
Barbara graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1967. On November 26, 1971, she embarked on a new chapter in her life when she married the love of her life, Doyle Jenkins. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a deep bond that lasted throughout their journey together. Barbara and Doyle were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Jodi, and Lindsey.
Barbara found immense joy in being a devoted stay-at-home mom and homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. Her shopping escapades were legendary, and she was known as a shopaholic who always got the best deals. Her sassy and witty personality added a touch of joy to every gathering.
Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's life. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her role as a matriarch and cherished every moment spent with her family. Gardening was another passion of hers, and she cultivated a beautiful garden that mirrored the love and care she showered upon her loved ones. Moreover, Barbara’s furry companions brought her immense comfort and joy.
Barbara and her husband, Doyle, shared countless adventures together, traveling in their camper van and creating cherished memories along the way. Their bond was unbreakable, and though Doyle passed away in 2018, their love continues to endure in the hearts of their family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Jenkins, her parents, Tanzy and Nelta Ledford, her brother Gary Ledford, and sister-in-law Maryetta, and their beloved dog, Snoodle.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her devoted family: daughters Jodi Stevenson and Chris Deininger, Lindsey Johnson and Cochise Ainge, brother Kenneth Ledford and Sherry, granddaughter Kori Lyons and Wyatt, grandson Gavin Biggs and Chaylin, granddaughters MacKenzie Biggs and Kaci Johnson, grandson Kolby Johnson and Hannah Goodwin, great-granddaughter Rylie Lyons, and great-grandson Levi Lyons. In her final years, Barbara found comfort in the companionship of her loyal/spoiled dog, Twizzler, and her evil cat, Frankie. They were always by her side, offering solace and love.
