Barbara Purnell Johnson's Obituary
Barbara Purnell Johnson, age 70, passed away on September 15, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Barbara was born on March 18, 1945 in Winona, Mississippi to her parents C.J. Jr and Tommie Mae Purnell. She received her high school diplomia from Brinkley High School in 1963. After her graduation, she worked as a x-ray technician at Gary Methodist Hospital. Barbara married Glen Johnson on August 4, 1990. She was a caring, loving individual who cherished the Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Johnson and her sister Denise Purnell Moore. Barbara is survived by her daughter Valerie Tillman, her son Derrick Purnell, her granddaughters Shawnitra Purnell, LaQuinta Tillman, DaVista Tillman, her great granddaughters Sanai, Kyrin, Maliyah, her great grandson Tristan, her five sisters Archie L. Clark, twin Dorothy Morris, Azel Smith-Wesley (spouse Henry), Marjorie Purnell, and Ruby Funchess (spouse Tommy), and her two brothers Douglas Purnell and J.T. Purnell (spouse Beverly Teal-Purnell), and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Rhema Bible Church Chapel on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 am.
