Barbara Sue Mathews' Obituary
Barbara Sue Mathews, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and skilled baker, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on October 22, 1940, in Hanson, Oklahoma, to the late Henry and Effie Ullrich.
Barbara's legacy is deeply intertwined with her passion for baking, having dedicated her talents to serving as a baker at St. John's Hospital. Her culinary creations brought comfort and joy to many, leaving a lasting imprint on those who had the privilege to taste her delicious treats.
Barbara is survived by her loving children: Billy Mathews, Keith Mathews, Ronnie Mathews, and Glenda Mathews-Hall. Her nurturing spirit extended to her sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her memory with love and admiration.
She leaves behind cherished siblings: Agnes Divine, Grady Ullrich, and Nyoka Villaneuva, along with numerous nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have shared in her life.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen Mathews, and her brothers Carl, Cornell, and Cotton, as well as sisters Hazel, Joann, and Linda. She also mourned the loss of her great-grandson, Domonique, who held a special place in her heart.
The Celebration of Life Service to honor Barbara's life and legacy will be 12:30 PM, Saturday, September 2nd, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Her kindness, warmth, and culinary talents will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she find eternal peace, surrounded by the love and memories she leaves behind.
