Barbara M. Reavis' Obituary
Barbara Mae Smith Reavis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, while in the presence of her adoring children and grandchildren, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 19th, 2017. God welcomed her into His eternal, loving light as her spirit raced to His embrace. A woman of grace and virtue, Barbara was a forgiving wife and a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was Aunt to Dr. Jack Kemper, Glade Kemper and Sister and lifelong friend to Gerry Kemper and Mary Dell. Born September 16th, 1932 to Sidney and Araminta Louise Smith she is Preceeded in death by her husband Bob W. Reavis Sr. and her Great-Grandson Aidan McCaffrey. Cherished mother to Bob W. Reavis II, Charles Mason Reavis, and Janet Louise Reavis. Adored Grandmother to Michelle Reavis Leubner, Amanda Lyn Shaw McCaffrey, Bob Mason Shaw, Sophia Reavis and many Nieces and Nephews. Barbara was a lifelong Tulsa Resident, business owner with her late husband Bob W. Reavis of Tulsa’s Woodland Corner Shopping Center. Barbara took great pride in being the ultimate homemaker, hostess, counselor, southern lady and role model. Barbara’s sense of design and taste was impeccable and surpassed only by her sense of humor. Barbara graduated from Tulsa’s Central High School in 1949 and later attended Tulsa Community College where she held a four point GPA. Mother was a lifelong Philanthropist. Just ask her children. She was a member of The Questors National Organization, Oklahoma Chapter serving as President and Secretary for many years. To Barbara, her most important job was Grandmother, to Michelle, Mandy and Mason. She hosted her three grandchildren every summer throughout their childhood years. She exposed them to the arts, travel, music, theatre and the importance of a good education. Her greatest reward in life was knowing all three had graduated University. She shared her life with them and taught them to love the Lord. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m.,Saturday March 25th, 2017 at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Rose Chapel. Visitation hours at Floral Haven will be from 6-8 pm Friday, March 24, 2017. Doctor Jack Kemper officiating. Reception to follow at the Family Home hosted by her Children and Grandchildren. “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Barbara will be deeply missed by her children, Janet, Bobby and Chuck, their families, nieces and nephews, friends and caretakers at Tulsa Cancer Institute and the wonderful caring Nursing Staff at Saint Francis Hospital and last but not least, her faithful dog Snoopy..
