Barbara was my “ex-mother-in-law”... a gracious woman whom I loved. I remember the first time I met her, when myself and her son - in our early 20’s, rolled into OK from California as we drove across the country for our respective families to meet the the other’s new beau. I remember that time clearly. She welcomed me with open arms. A wonderfully warm woman indeed. As the years passed and we would come to visit from afar, she would always have the treats she knew I loved waiting on the kitchen counter for me. When Del passed, even though her son and I had divorced, she called me and cried. I was so thankful that she still felt a bond with me to safely have an ear to listen and feel with her. I am so thankful to have given her a granddaughter, whom she loved, and who was with her in her final days upon this earth.
A peaceful journey, dear Barbara. You will always remain dear to my heart.
