Barney Ray Busby's Obituary
Barney Ray Busby passed from this life on March 25, 2025 at the age of 81 after a long battle with leukemia. He is in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of the home Joan Busby, being happily married for 61 years.
He was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on January 27, 1944 to Barney and Geraldine Busby of Dustin, Oklahoma.
Barney enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He and Joan had an RV and belonged to two camp clubs enjoying the travel and friends made along the way.
Barney and Joan lived in the Verdigris area for 47 years, moving there in 1978.
Barney was a machinist for 52 years and worked at several shops, including Crescent, TK International, and American Airlines where he retired after 18 years. Barney loved his work, all the people he came in contact with, he was a natural leader, and knew his trade well.
He is preceded in death by his parents after a good long life. Barney was the only child but had an extended family on Joan’s side including brother-in-law Dean and sister-in-law Charlotte Corey, nephew and niece, Mike and Tammy Griffeth, all of Tulsa. They all cared and loved Barney very much.
