Barney Fred Whorton Jr.'s Obituary
Barney Fred Whorton Jr, an 80-year-old Tulsa Resident; Passed Away on May 21, 2023. Barney was Born July 19, 1942, to Barney and Hal Jean (Rollins) Whorton in Pryor, Oklahoma. He Grew up and attended School in Locust Grove, Claremore, And Tahlequah Barney graduated OMA in 1962. Barney owned and operated American Asphalt, American Sealcoating, and Action Fence for 45 years. Barney enjoyed working on the job for many years. Watching projects from start to finish. Barney enjoyed his toys which included: his motorhome, airplanes, boats, motorcycles, golf, different various vehicles he owned over the years. Barney loved his family deeply; he treasured time spent with his family, and friends, he will be missed by all that knew him.
Barney is survived by his two sons, Barney Scott (and Tina) Whorton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and William James Alan (and Kathy) Whorton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his other family members Zak Monday of Hobart Oklahoma, Marilyn Whorton, Edward Whorton, and Kendra Whorton all of Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
He is reunited with his brother Larry Alan Whorton, his parents, Hal Jean Daniel, and Barney Fred Whorton Sr., and Colt Hardy.
Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to To the Larry Alan Whorton Endowment at the OMA Alumni Association/Rogers State University or other programs at RSU.
