Beatrice Joan Magee's Obituary
Beatrice Joan Magee, lovingly known as “Bea” age 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 20, 2026. She was born on January 19, 1943, in Tulsa to her parents, John David Rather and Barbara Marie (Kleiss) Rather.
Bea was a woman full of warmth, humor, and unmistakable personality. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome in her presence. Known for her good sense of humor, she brought laughter and light to those around her throughout her life.
She had a deep and devoted love for her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy. She also shared a very special bond with her beloved dog, Angel, whom she adored wholeheartedly. It was often joked—lovingly—that Angel might have had a slight edge over even the grandkids in her heart.
Bea cherished her routines and the traditions she built with her family. Tuesdays were especially meaningful, as they were reserved for $2 tacos with her sister Dianne and whoever wanted to share Taco time at On the Border, followed by sweet treats at Braum’s and more time making memories. She also enjoyed lunch at Billy Ray’s BBQ and Catfish. These simple, consistent moments became treasured family traditions that will be remembered for years to come.
She also had a love for good food and fellowship, enjoying outings with family and visits to favorite local spots. A fan of country music, Bea once took a memorable trip to Nashville on her own—an example of her independent spirit and sense of adventure. She was raised in the Church of Christ, which remained an important foundation in her life.
Bea is survived by her loving son, James Magee; her siblings, Linda Tiner and Jay Rather; her grandchildren, Trinity Magee, Katie Murphy, Cecilia Jones, and Brandon Magee; and her great-grandchildren, Harrlynn Paige Preslar, Kaiden Magee, David Magee, and Remington Magee.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Magee, and his wife, Marquita Magee.
Beatrice Joan Magee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, her love of family, and her unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
