Benjamin Carter Bishop, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at home on July 5, 2015. Ben was born March 28, 1940 (although the doctor didnâ??t come until the next day and dated the birth certificate March 29th) to Barney Clarence and Melvin Cornelia (Carter) Bishop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ben graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1958. He joined the Navy where he honorably served our country for four years. In 1961 he married the love of his life, Javada Louise Morris. Two children were born from this union, Brent Robert and Jonna Dalynn. When Ben got out of the Navy he worked briefly for the phone company. The majority of his career was with Rogers Galvanizing where he started in the shop. Through Benâ??s hard work and dedication, Ben retired in 1995 as chief executive officer and chairman of the board. Ben greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter (especially with a bow), duck hunter, and fisherman. He was also an active member of the Akdar Shrine. Ben and Javada have a remarkable set of friends that all spent the springs and summers at Keystone Lake, to an early fall trip to Colorado, and the remainder of the fall at the deer lease. Ben was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Robert (Bob) Wesley Bishop, and sister Juanita Mae Bishop. Ben is survived by his wife of over 53 years Javada; son Brent Bishop and Michi Morris; daughter Jonna Reddell and husband Johnnie of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Taylor Rogers and Justyce Cork, Elaine Reddell, Blake Bishop, Scott Reddell, Brooke Bishop; One great grandchild Paisley Cork; Nieces and nephews, Ray Bishop and wife Donna, Vicki Kohout and husband Clark, Mary Beth Bishop and Linda Carnes; Great nieces and nephews Angela Thomas and husband Jeff, Matt Bishop and wife Angela; Great-great nieces and nephews, Jordan Thomas, Addison Thomas, Hagen Bishop, and Kinsley Bishop; Numerous cousins; honorary cousin Randy Walker.
