Benjamin Edward Ecklar III's Obituary
Benjamin Edward Ecklar III of Euless, Texas passed away in his home on August 27, 2021 at the age of 53. Ben, or Eddie as he was known growing up, adored his family and put his whole heart into supporting them. Ben was always a hard worker, having two jobs as soon as he was allowed to work, but reminisced about the good ol’ days of playing football at Broken Arrow High School. His lifelong career in the sports card industry began at his sports card shop while in college at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, where he graduated with an accounting degree. He moved to the Dallas area in 1993 and worked for Beckett Publications, Donruss, and ending up as Product Development Director at Panini America. He married Nicole, the love of his life, in 1998. They were married 23 years and had six children together. Outside of the office, he would be found watching his kids’ sporting events, enjoying a movie or from time to time bowling with his family, worshiping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at church or researching up-and-coming hidden-gem sports prospects. He loved Christmastime and always put up lights and acted like Santa Clause. He was generous and funny, able to lighten up the atmosphere with an unexpected perspective. He was the most faithful friend anyone could have.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole, and their six children, Benjamin, Anna, William, Avery, Elijah and Matthew, his father and mother, Benjamin Edward Ecklar Jr. and Melody Anne Ecklar of Broken Arrow, OK, his siblings James (and Kristen) Ecklar of Branchville, SC, Donna (& Greg) Hutson of Athens, AL, John Ecklar of Broken Arrow, OK, Justin (& Holly) Ecklar of Tulsa, OK, Sarah (& RD) Anguino of Wagoner, OK, nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm, Funeral Services at 3:00 pm, on Friday, September 17 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
