Benjamin Harrison Sevier Jr.'s Obituary
Benjamin Harrison Sevier, Jr., beloved father, grandfather, and brother, left this Earth to be with his Lord and Savior on December 19, 2015. He was born in Hitchita, Oklahoma on December 12, 1940 to Nora and Benjamin Sevier, Sr. Ben was a military police veteran with the U.S. Army, stationed in Ft. Bragg and served in various locations, including the Dominican Republic. In his later years, he was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tulsa and most recently Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. A recreational gambler who usually came out ahead, Ben was never too far from his Fun Size Three Musketeers and wintergreen Lifesavers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Sevier. Surviving family include his daughter Teresa Metcalf of Austin and husband Tracy; son Edward Sevier of Dallas and wife Soraya; son Jimmy Powell of Coffeyville, Kansas; son Billy Powell of Strafford, Missouri and wife Janice; daughter Nikki Chambers of Broken Arrow and husband Fred; brother Tommy Sevier of Tulsa and wife Katie; sister Carolyn Powell of Morris; sister Phyliss Johnson of Okmulgee; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viewing will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Room, 6500 S 129th E Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee, with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma The family is eternally grateful for all the love and support received during this incredibly difficult time. We’ve shared hugs, stories, prayers, tears and laughter from so many people who knew and loved Ben.
