Benny Gibson's Obituary
Benny Ray Gibson, 86, of Tulsa, OK passed way February 12, 2021. He was born August 13, 1934 in Wichita Falls, TX to Baxter and Alice Gibson.
Ben Gibson was full of life. He loved jokes, games, traveling and showing us new places. He loved the Lord and his family, especially his kids and grandkids! He was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Alice and Baxter (Blackie) Gibson. He grew up in various towns in New Mexico and Texas, graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1952. Ben was a policeman in Wichita Falls, in the Army mainly in Germany, and in sales and service with an oil company. He was a manager of stores in five states including TG&Y and Kresge. Ben’s real love was the 23 years he spent with Little Brownie Bakers as a Regional Sales Manager. The company is one of two Girl Scout Cookie companies in the country. He loved working with Girl Scout Councils in five states helping with cookie sales, training, and deliveries. He was known by many as the “Cookie Man”!
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Blackie Gibson, and his brother and sister, Bob Gibson and Peggy Luckett. He is survived by his wife, Emily and six children: Linda (Robert) Davidson of Rockingham, NC, Jerry (Mary) Bryant of Chugiak, Alaska, Dennis (Candace) Gibson of Pauls Valley, OK, Victor (Wallecia) Gibson of Amarillo, TX, Joel (Kimberly) Gibson of Sherman TX, and Kelly (Rebecca) Gibson of Norman, OK.; three step children (whom he loved as his own): Todd (Alisa) Smith of Rexburg, ID, Cynthia (Dusty) Goddard of Bixby, OK, and Christina Watson of La Pine, OR. Ben is also survived by 21 grandchildren, at least 20 great grandchildren, several nephews and a niece, Susan (Bill) Gooden of Duncan, OK.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 18, 2021.
