Bernidene Gist's Obituary
GIST- Bernidene, 79, of Tulsa went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2016, in Tulsa. She was born on August 23, 1936, to James and Alma Williams in Pauls Valley, OK. “Berna” was a successful accountant and after stints with Dow Chemical Company, Consumers Oil Company she retired from Oklahoma Electrical Supply Company. Berna raised three boys with kindness, firm direction when needed and the assurance that they were always loved and safe. She enjoyed gardening, her artwork, cooking, Oklahoma State University sports and frequent trips to Florida. However, those that knew her understood that her most enjoyable activity was visiting with her family and her grandchildren and never missing a sporting event or activity that her children were involved with. She treasured her special relationships that she had with her sons and the ability to coach and mentor her boys and her grandchildren whenever she could as she had keen intellect and very special relationships with all. Berna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Gist. She is survived by her brother Ben Williams and wife Anne Williams; three sons and 10 grandchildren: Lane and wife Deborah and their children Lane, Whitney, Heather and Nicki; Mike and wife Teresa and their children, Melissa, Mike and Dillon; Kelly and wife Sandie and their children Buddy, Chris and Jordyn and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 10:00 AM – 08:00 PM at Floral Haven Visitation Suites, 6500 S. 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
