Bernon Gaylord Bray's Obituary
Bernon was 75 years, 8 months, and 14 days. Born in Ft. Worth, Texas July 29, 1939. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil; mother, Hallie and brother, J.C.. He was also preceded by his mother and father-in law, Alta and Cecil Doyle. He is survived by wife, Betty; daughter, Vicki Lynn and son, Kenneth W. He met Betty in 1956 and in 3 years were married on June 5, 1959 and they were married for 55 years. Their first date was Valentine’s Day in 1956, 58 years ago. There were two children: Vicki Lynn Halladay of Glenpool and Kenneth Wayne Bray of Pryor.. Vicki has 4 children: Christopher Joseph, Chad and Cassandra Halladay. Vicki has 3 grandchildren, Isaiah, Adarah, and Kaiden. Ken has 3 children, Joshua, Justin, and Angel Bray and has 4 grandchildren. Bernon has a sister, Juanita Watson and nephew, Michael Bray and niece, Leeann Bray. Vernon, worked with his father-in-law at Hanna furniture as a truck driver. He drove 18-Wheeler for 8 years. He then worked for Mill Creek Lumber Co. where he worked for 19 years and where he retired from in 2009. Vernon was a devoted OU fan. He never missed a game and he would tape them and played them until he wore out the tapes. He was either at his brothers or his brother was at his house. they played dominoes and cards until all hours of the night. He left us on Valentine’s day February 14, 2015 to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held 2:00PM-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Floral Haven Funeral Home and Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Floral Haven Chapel.
