Bert Clayton Berry's Obituary
Bert Clayton Berry was born February 16, 1930 in Beggs, OK. He passed away in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on January 10, 2018.He entered Service with the US Navy in 1948 and served during the Korean War. Upon returning to Oklahoma, his parents had moved to Tulsa and while visiting them noticed the young lady living next door who would be the love of his life , Phyllis June Dodson. They were married on October 23, 1953 and remained so until her death in 2010. Bert worked for Safeway and Homeland Grocery for 40plus years. Upon his retirement, he found his true calling. He went to work selling cowboy boots for Drysdale’s for several years. Along the way he amassed his impressive collection of boots which he loved to wear.Bert is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Phyllis Berry. He is survived by his son Mark Berry, his daughter Diane Mitchell (Bill), grandson Jon Berry, granddaughter Tayler Mitchell, great grandsons Jackson and Luke Berry. He is also survived by sister-in-law Doris Dodson as well as numerous nephews.Visitation will be Sunday January 14, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.Service will be Monday January 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to either St. John’s Hospice or Disabled American Veterans.
