Berton “Bert” Lee Byrne, 69, passed away from this life on Tuesday July 26, 2011 . Bert was born in Hinton, OK on 11/15/1941 to parents James and Ruby Byrne. He attended Central High School where shortly after he met and fell in love with Winona Smith. The couple was wed on 11/25/1965. Bert was an avid outdoorsman, loved a good game of cards, and drew great enjoyment from being around people of all different walks of life. He never knew a stranger and was always quick to start a conversation at any time. No one or thing gave Bert greater joy than the company of his beloved Nonie. He made it his goal in life to cherish her every minute from the moment they met and will be eternally devoted to watching over her. He worked for 21 years at Nelson Electric and after he retired his good heart and quick wit was a staple at Our Savior Lutheran Church where he faithfully served the congregation and made sure the leftovers from the kitchen were minimal, including pies that were labeled for pastor Drier. Bert is an inspiration to all on what it means to be a true friend, a loving father, and most of all, a devoted husband. He will be missed by many. Proceeded in death by his father James Byrne and Mother Ruby Beach, his brother James Byrne and Raymond Beach. He is survived by his wife Nonie Byrne, his son Steve and grandkids Torey and Laney Byrne. His Daughter Robyn and husband Kenny Harris and grandkids Alyssa, Jake, and Nathan. His Son Michael and wife Sammi Byrne and grandkids Sydni, Maddi, and Hayden. His sister Betty Preston of Springfield MO and sister Charlotte and her husband John Wheeler of Skiatook OK, his brother Cecil Beach and wife Paula of Muskogee Ok.
