Bess Marie Lay's Obituary
Bess was born February 21, 1924 in Opello, Arkansas and left this world April 24, 2012 to be with the Lord she loved and to return to the side of the love of her life who died late last year. She will be missed by many family and friends who loved her dearly. As a first job employee at the garment factory in Morrilton, AR, she met a wonderful man who captured her heart at first glance and that love didn’t diminsh for the next 69 years. The next love of her life was her wonderful family.She held each family member in the highest regard,loving each and everyone completely. To Bess, family was first. She is survived by children, Phyllis Kinison and Ron and Teresa Lay, grandchildren, Traci Smith, Amber (Lay) and Lance Salyers, Randy and Ramie Lay, and great-grandchildren, Ella Jewel Salyers and Ethan Dane Salyers, a wonderful brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. In 1970, Bess and Earl started Safari Travel Service. During the next 41 years they made thousands of friends and provided many brief trips to nearby fun locations and longer more exotic trips all across the United States and Canada. They treated all clients as family and provided service that can only come from a true love for their fellow man a love they learned through a deep personal relationship with their Lord, Jesus Christ. A celebration of Bess’ life will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012, 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, OK. Family will greet friends on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM ~6:00 PM.
