Bessie Wallis' Obituary
Bessie Wallis of Waxahachie, TX passed away quietly in her sleep on November 16, 2020.
Born March 28, 1924 – she lived 96 full and exciting years. She spent many years enjoying travel and was a member of the Eastern Stars and Inola Methodist Church. She moved from Claremore, OK to Texas to be near her family and enjoyed the many get togethers and the nearness of a loving family. Bessie had one daughter – Joan Schooner who survives. She also was a loving grandmother to 3 grandaughters – Sonia Clark, Heather Ludwig and Heidi Schoonover all of Waxahachie. She was blessed with 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Wallis, 3 brothers, Henry, Raymond and Roy Opela and her parents August and Helen Opela. Raised in Prague, OK – she was very proud of her Czech heritage and made wonderful Kolaches.
She will be loved and missed greatly by all.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens- Vet's Field of Honor Phase II.
