Betty Jo Brown Myers' Obituary
Betty Jo (Viar) Brown Myers, born in Quincy, IL, on July 24, 1948, age 75, passed away peacefully at home in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, July 16th. She has left us to be with her parents, Albert and Ruth Viar, her sister Mary, and other family members. A Leo through and through, she was bold, intelligent, warm, and courageous. She has five children, 5x grandchildren, and 5xx great grandkids. That’s a LOT of offspring!!! For the past forty years she has been best known as Mema. Mema loved planning and throwing grand themed parties and hosting large family holiday gatherings. So, instead of a traditional service, we will be hosting a party at home to honor and celebrate her life and legacy on Saturday, July 27th. There will also be a pre-party and an after party because that’s the way she liked it. P.S. Don’t forget to bring a gift. Something simple…maybe a flower or a handwritten message or pack of gum?!!?!? Something Memaish…She will be expecting it you know, because that is her love language.
Below is an excerpt from a poem that Mema wanted share with you.
To Those I Love
And Those Who Loved Me,
When I am gone, release me,
And let me go,
I have so many thing
To see and do.
You must not tie yourself
To me with tears,
Be Happy that we had
For So Many Years
And Know That I love You.
