Betty "Sue" Chandler's Obituary
Betty Sue Chandler, 87, of Broken Arrow, OK passed away on October 19, 2017 with family by her side.Sue was born October 10, 1930 in Hollis, OK, the daughter of Ernest and Katherine Snell, and was raised in Shamrock, TX with her brothers Ernest, Joe, and Virgil. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M University in 1952 and moved to Broken Arrow shortly after. After raising her children in the home, she resumed a career teaching third grade in Broken Arrow Public Schools. Sue retired in 1992 and continued quilting, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She joined First United Methodist of Broken Arrow in 1952 and remained an active member until her passing.Those who will miss Sue the most include her brother, Joe Snell; son, Gary Chandler and wife Jane Chandler; daughter, Cindy Kuenning and husband Greg Kuenning; grandchildren, Andrea, Carrie, Ryan, and Mark; great-grandchildren, Kellen, Felicity, Dylan, Harrison, and Benjamin; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and close friends.A service celebrating Sue’s life will be conducted by Pastor Larry Varvel on Monday, October 23 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist of Broken Arrow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to United Methodist Women or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
