Betty Jean Cooper Betty Jean Cooper, 84 young years, passed away on February 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She has accepted a new mission in a wonderful place, Heaven with Jesus. She will be singing, dancing, gardening, reading, and laughing with her husband, Jack and other family members who have preceded her in death. Betty was born on January 6, 1934 in Searcy, Arkansas to Robert H. & Nellie Stracener. She is the youngest of 3 children. Up until December 2016, she lived at home with her youngest daughter. She resided at Brookdale Alzheimer’s and Dementia center at the time of her passing. Married for 44 years to the love of her life, Jack and Betty Cooper raised their 3 children Jody, Amy and Stacey in a loving Christian home located in Orlando, Florida. Betty was a woman of faith and shaped the spirituality in the home by her tireless Christian example. She was a faithful member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Betty faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking which included cake decorating, sewing and crafting. She also had an amazing talent in flower arranging. Betty even received a certificate as a Master Floral Designer. Her signature gift of giving freely and helping others was exemplified up until the last few months of her life. It will be a legacy that will continue to be shared and never forgotten. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Jack C. Cooper. She was also predeceased by her parents Robert H. and Nellie Stracener and a brother Woodrow and wife Eleanor Stracener. Betty is survived by her daughters Jody James, Amy Riether and Stacey Cooper. She is also survived by an older brother Robert Jr. and his wife Amy. Betty was the grandmother to 3 grandchildren; Rachael, Luke and Angela Riether. She also was the great grandmother to 8 great grandchildren; Calin, Christien, Isaac and Abigail Worley; Kaiden and Trinity Hubbard; Liam Brown; and Rebecca Riether. A funeral service celebrating her life will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Betty’s pastor, Josh Lawrence will be officiating.
