Betty J. Holland's Obituary
Betty J. Holland, 81 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her home in Sand Springs with her loving family by her side. She was born June 24, 1937 in Chicot, Arkansas to her parents, Joe A. Nicklas and Verna Marie Whitesell Nicklas.Betty was a “girly” girl, she loved her lipstick and had about every color you could imagine. She would get her hair done every Friday and her nails done every three weeks. She also loved to shop. If she couldn’t make it out to the store, she would pick up the phone and order those things she wanted. She loved to travel. She took cruises to places like Europe and Alaska as well as other fun destinations. She and her husband Lloyd even had a travel trailer that they would use for their United States excursions and their church group tours. She loved to paint and had the artwork to show for it and was a wonder cook and baker.Betty is survived by two sons, Randall Hudson of Nashville, Tennessee and Roger A. Hudson and wife Teri of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Brenda Merideth and husband Larry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one step-son, Kenneth Holland and wife Lois of Cabot, Arkansas; one sister; Nevada Sturdivant of Mulberry, Arkansas; one grandson, Michael Hudson; five step-grandchildren, Stephanie Freeman and husband Derek, Andy Merideth and wife Angela, Lee Holland, Julia Joyce Pierce and husband Adam, and Dawn Graham; six step-great grandchildren, Nic Merideth, Zac Merideth, Maddie Freeman, Hope Smith, Jewel Smith, and Ronin Pierce; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Verna Nicklas; her husband, Lloyd Holland; and sister, Delores Vredenburg.Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Merideth officiating. Burial will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
