Betty Jane Joseph's Obituary
Betty Jane Joseph (Hunt) died peacefully on November 9, 2018 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 94, in the company of her beloved family.Betty was born on November 21, 1923 in Edwards, IL to Thomas and Matilda Hunt. She graduated from Elmwood High School and later attended Dickinson Secretarial School. She married Harlan George Joseph on December 24, 1948 in Peoria, IL. As a married couple, George and Betty started a successful foundry supply company, Canfield & Joseph, where Betty was crucial to the success of the fledging company. She was the power behind the scenes getting those midnight quotes and letters out after the kids were in bed. She was also a valuable sounding board and advisor to her husband and developed many lifelong friendships with employees, vendors and customers over the years. Betty was a patient and loving mother to her three children Greg, Tom, and Bev. She was known for her kindness and generosity, as well as her sweet and gentle spirit. Betty was an accomplished golfer whose skill rivaled anyone she played with, male or female. She was also a member of Eastern Star. Betty is survived by her children Greg Joseph and Bev Lahn (John), daughter-in-law Kerry Joseph; sister Jean Wallace; grandchildren Jennifer Fennell (Josh), Jared Joseph (Corey), Jonathan Joseph (Amber), Kristen Mashburn (Justin), Adam Joseph (Whitney), and Kevin Lahn (Ashley), as well as her great-grandchildren Jeana, Scott, Jill, Claire, Ethan, Emily, and Ava. She is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Matilda Hunt, husband H. George Joseph, brother Pete Hunt, son Thomas Joseph, and daughter-in-law Janice Joseph. Her funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 3:00 at Floral Haven.
