Betty Jean Smith, 91, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on July 24, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1932, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to the late Iva and Ben Washburn. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldred, her daughter Sandra, and her brother Ben "Rube".
Betty, known for her spitfire personality, had a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her. She was honest, caring, and loving, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Betty's warm presence and genuine kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her daughter Diana Smith, her grandchildren James Staves, Cassandra Martin, Samantha Mangrum, and her great-grandchildren Ivy Kate Staves, Jordyn Harris, Carter Mangrum, and Graham Mangrum. She cherished her time spent with family and friends, often going shopping, traveling, and creating beautiful memories together.
Betty's life will be celebrated at a ceremony held at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 12:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her remarkable life and bidding her a heartfelt farewell.
Betty Jean Smith will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her genuine care for others. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
