I first knew Beverly from NJ. She was my sister, Margie’s best friend. I was younger, but Bev was always kind and patient with me, when I’m sure I was annoying. Bev was a fixture at our house with all the good, bad , and ugly that went on. She looked like Susan Dey from the Partridge Family. lol Bev was also hilarious. When tape recorders came out, we would record all her impressions, like: Vincent Price doing Dracula, or Lily Tomlin doing Edith Ann. Bev was a great sport in trying all the strange ethnic foods from our household. Our parents fermented garlic green tomatoes, an acquired taste. One time she made the mistake of washing a slice down with milk. A fountain of milk shot out of her mouth, an expression of the two being a bad mix.
I know life was difficult for Bev the last years of her life, and I always prayed things would improve. I cherish all those childhood memories, bright points in my life, that’s for sure. I’m grateful throughout life’s challenges and hardships, Bev’s faith remained in tact.
