Beverly Sue Stroud's Obituary
Beverly “Sue” Stroud passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 14, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sue made Tulsa her lifelong home. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and attended Northeastern State University before marrying the love of her life, Glenn Stroud, on June 30, 1972.
Sue worked for Southwestern Bell (later AT&T) for 17 years before dedicating herself full time to caring for her family. A natural caretaker, she was always there for those around her—whether lending a helping hand, preparing a meal for a friend in need, or simply offering her warmth and presence.
An exceptional cook and baker, Sue delighted in entertaining, sharing her table, and delivering her famous cinnamon rolls during the holidays. She loved being near the water, whether at the lake, at the beach in Destin, Florida, or traveling to the mountains to spend cherished time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from being “Nene” to Alexis and Logan, who were the center of her world.
Sue also had a lifelong love of dogs, each one holding a special place in her heart. She leaves behind her beloved companion, Punkin, who rarely left her side.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Virgil Wilson; her mother, Billie Wanda Marion; her stepfather, Rosen Loyd Marion; and her sister, Paula Kay Dawes. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Glenn Edward Stroud; her daughter, Jennifer Dawn Fritz, and husband, Eric; and her treasured grandchildren, Alexis Briana Fritz and Logan Meier Fritz. She is also survived by her nephews, Richard Lee Dawes III and wife, Peggy, and Chad Dawes; as well as her great-niece and great-nephews, Sam, Devin, Grayce, Mason, Brody, and Carson Dawes.
Sue’s generous spirit will live on through the causes she held dear. Her favorite charities included The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (now Blood Cancer United) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
