Beverly Lorraine Walter's Obituary
Beverly Lorraine Walter passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2024, at BeeHive Homes of Glenpool. She was well cared for and treasured by BeeHive staff, AVow Hospice and her special Perfect Fit caregiver, Emily. Beverly was 87 at the time of her departure for heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. And Lucinda M. Marshall, beloved husband M.H. Walter (“Walters” to her), their son Scott D. Walter, brother Everette Marshall and sister-in-law Donna Walter. She is survived by her only Grandson Brandon Scott Walter of Talihina OK, sisters Jeanette Sammartano of Aurora MN, Valda Levander of Allendale MI and many nieces and nephews.
Beverly was born August 15, 1937, in Lyons Township, Wadena County, Minnesota. She was the second of 4 children in her family. Her baptism was September 3, 1944, and her confirmation July 1, 1951, in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebeka, MN. She grew up there and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1955. She and Walters were married March 31, 1956. They were married 63 years at the time of his death. Beverly was a meticulous, organized, everything-in-its-place-gal.
She was an avid reader and belonged to a book club when she lived at Covenant Living Bixby. She had a great group of friends there and enjoyed eating, shopping, watching old movies and listening to musicians who came to the building. Before they moved out of the family home at 9901 E 100th Street south, Tulsa, Beverly remembered their home being the gathering place for the neighborhood. They enjoyed many years there and kept in touch with lots of friends. Beverly was the first female VP at Bank of Oklahoma and became a Certified Securities Operations Professional July 1997. She retired August 21st,1999. Everyone who knew her admired her confident, capable manner and leadership. Until her mid 80s she paid her own bills and balanced her checkbook to the penny! I will miss sharing donuts from Daylight Donuts with her each time I visited.
The memorial service will be at Floral Haven Chapel November 14th at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to her favorite charities: St. Jude’s Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Hospital or Salvation Army.
