Bill Junior Cox's Obituary
Bill Junior Cox was born on September 10, 1934. He passed away peacefully on October 2, 2020 at his home in Coweta, OK at the age of 86. Bill graduated Union High School in 1952. Bill married Doris Faye Laughrey on Feb. 25, 1953 and they were married for 36 years. Bill married Betty Lou Cassidy Harris on June 26, 1993 and they were married for 27 years.
Bill worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma, US Army Corp of Engineers and Oklahoma Department of Transportation. He retired from the position of Area Engineer at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1999 with over 40 years of Service.
Bill’s hobbies included gardening and planting trees. He regularly participated in the “Up With Trees” projects through-out the Tulsa Area. Bill loved to travel and was able to travel to all 50 US states and Thailand. He also enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. He was a member of “House of Prayer” Church in Tulsa, OK for 65 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty Cox of the home. Sons: Rusty & wife Kary Cox of Edmond, OK; Randy & wife Lora Cox of Coweta, OK; Billy & wife Cara Cox of Broken Arrow, OK. Stepsons: Mike & wife Yana Harris of Bixby, OK; Richard Harris of Longmont, CO. Brother: Enoch & wife Janice Cox of Skiatook, OK. Grandchildren: Lauren Harris of Collinsville, OK; Kristin & husband Justin Hutton of Edmond, OK; Camden Harris of Owasso, OK; Ben & wife Clarissa Cox of Tulsa, OK; Zachary & wife Kaylee Cox of Bella Vista, AR; Brian Cox of Coweta, OK; Sedona Cox of Broken Arrow, OK; Orrin Cox of Broken Arrow, OK. Great-Grandchildren: Harper Hutton of Edmond, OK; Oliver Cox of Bella Vista, AR; Jackson Hutton of Edmond, OK
He is preceded in Death by first wife Doris Cox of Bixby, OK; Parents: William & Bertha Cox; Siblings: HC Sasser, Rudolph Cox, Loretta Hale, Ronald Cox, Ralph Cox and Great-Grandson: Carter Cash Hutton
