Billie Dove Woods' Obituary
Billie Dove Hunter Woods, “Mimi”, was born March 16th, 1930, to William and Mittie Hunter, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billie went to be with the lord on May 6th, 2015, at the age of 85 years old. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended Union Public Schools. She excelled on the basketball court as a forward for the Union High School team. Billie married her husband James (Jim) Woods on June 19th, 1948. Her life revolved around family and all their activities and interests. She loved to cook and would have a homemade Sunday lunch for the entire family every Sunday after church. Billie made sure no one ever went hungry. She also enjoyed watching all her farm animals, and in particular, her favorite, “Pete” the Peacock. Billie is survived by her husband James Woods; daughter Carolyn DuPree and her husband Mike; son Mike Woods and his wife Teresa; grandchildren Stephanie Parker and her husband Gentry, Melissa Paschall and her husband Jason, Justin Woods and his wife Julia, Jacob Woods, Josh DuPree and his wife Lauren, Jonathan Woods and his wife Sarah; and 13 great grandchildren. Billie is preceded in death by her parents William and Mittie Hunter; her 4 brothers, Jackie Hunter, Ted Hunter, Joe Hunter, Freddie Hunter; and her 9 sisters, Irene Haley, Edna Park, Iva Case, Goldie Tanner, Pearl Cash, Mary Clugston, Nellie Adams, June White, and Jenny Knight.Visitation is to be held on Friday, May 8th, 2015 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m.. Funeral Services to celebrate Billie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Church, 100 N. Olive, Broken Arrow, OK 74012 with graveside services to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery.
