Billy Gene Cooper's Obituary
Billy Gene Cooper, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend; born Friday, September 10, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri; went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Billy was a state champion wrestler in his high school. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country honorably and proudly. When his service to his country was complete Billy eventually relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma starting a very successful residential and commercial construction company. In December 2010, Billy married the love of his life and they settled down together in Tulsa to raise their growing family together. Billy enjoyed many things in his free time such as working on and riding on his motorcycle, playing shuffleboard and pool, camping, going out on the lake and cruising around in his classic cars. What Billy was truly passionate about was his family that he loved so dearly. Fond memories will always be cherished of Billy, of his camping trips with his son-in-law, his love of customizing and making things unique and his over whelming love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who had their lives touched by him. Billy is preceded in death by his loving mother, Alice Roberds; his three dear uncles; his precious grandson, Tony Becknell III and his precious granddaughter, Toniana Becknell. Billy is survived by his beloved wife of fifteen years, Cheryl Cooper; his five loving children, Larosa Dillard, Essie Morgan & husband James, Chelcie Cooper, Dewayne Perryman and Noah Bates & wife Tasha; his ten dearly loved grandchildren, Kymbrazha Thompson, Deshy’na Thompson; Damar’e Thompson, Antwanique Thompson, Damario Thompson Jr., LaMari’yon Thompson, Eric Talton, Keith Talton, Ty’Lia Smith and Everett Smith Jr.; his two precious great grandchildren, Dayo Nevah Thompson and Promis Cheryl Ann Smith and numerous loving nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 11:00AM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel.
