Billy Lee Delozier's Obituary
Bill Delozier, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away October 31, 2022, surrounded by family in his home. Bill was born September 4, 1930, to Roy and Rosa Delozier. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1950 and joined the United States Air Force in January 1951. Bill went to work for American Airlines in 1955, immediately after his honorable discharge from the Air Force. On June 2, 1956, he married the love of his life, Opal Harrison. Bill and Opal had 3 children, Angela, Patty, and Rebecca and one nephew by birth but son by choice, Phil Allen. Bill continued to work for American Airlines for the rest of his career, retiring on February 1, 1994. Bill and Opal were co-owners of Luv’s Hallmark Shop in Tulsa from 1983 through 1991.
Bill loved family, travel and outdoor adventures. Every summer weekend when their children were young was spent at a lake in Oklahoma, usually with his sister, Jean Nelson and her family. Bill loved taking the kids out water skiing and fishing with Opal and his family and friends. Bill and Opal traveled extensively in the United States, visiting all 50 states. They also traveled to Europe two times to visit and explore with his brother Darrel and sister-in-law Dosha. Family and close friends often accompanied them on their many adventures in the United States, including RV-ing with Darrel and Dosha Delozier, traveling to Hawaii with Pat and Leonard Anderson, and road trips with Don and Carol Yelton. Countless holidays, game nights, and meals were hosted by Bill and Opal throughout their 66 years of marriage.
Bill is survived by his wife, Opal Delozier, his daughters, Angela Henry (Thomas), Patty DeCamp (Derick), and Rebecca Arroyo (Bill), grandchildren Aaron Berkowitz, Amber Cue (Steve), Rachel Berkowitz (Veronica), Melinda Thompson (Scott), Laura Leech and their children, Ally Cue, Abby Cue, Annabelle Cue, Billy Young, Barron Soares, Dane Wilburg, Yvonne Wilburg, and Americus Berkowitz-Cole, as well as children of Thomas Henry and Bill Arroyo: Joseph Henry, John Henry, Nikki Symm, and Lacey Arroyo and their respective children. Bill is also survived by sister-in-law Dosha Delozier, nephews Phil Allen (Vickie), Harvey Allen, and nieces Regenia Simpson (Jerry), Annette Roman (Nick), Donna Fullerton (Charlie), and Diana Mohr (David) and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rosa Delozier; his sisters, Jean Nelson, and Nadine Delozier; his brother Darrel Delozier; and his brother-in-law, Earl Nelson.
A celebration of Bill’s life, where we will laugh, hug, and remember him will be held on November 23, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Floral Haven Family Center, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. A light luncheon will be served. If you are planning to attend, please let Opal, Angela, Patty, or Rebecca know. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate in Bill’s honor to Clarehouse in Tulsa or the charity of your choice.
