Billy Jack Exendine's Obituary
Billy Jack Exendine was born November 1, 1931 near Sapulpa, OK, and went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2010 after suffering from a debilitating stroke. He died in his home with family by his side. He attended high school at Beggs, OK and graduated from Sand Springs High School. He was a member of 29th &Yale Church of Christ since 1989, and prior to that, a member of Home Gardens Church of Christ where he raised his family with his loving wife of 44 years, Jean Baker Exendine, who preceded him in death in 1994.Ex, as he was referred to by co-workers, was a loyal employee of 42 ½ years at American Airlines, Tulsa, OK.He enjoyed sports, and was a long-time fan of the Dodgers baseball team. He loved history and reading biographies. He also enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard. His favorite loves in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved to sing silly songs to and watch them laugh.He will be deeply missed; but knowing he is with Jesus is our comfort.He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Caroldean Carnes, Freda Exendine and Joella Messenger.He is survived by wife of 12 years, Franka Exendine of Tulsa, OK; brother, Marvin Exendine of Claremore, OK; children, Twyla Davis and husband, Gary of Tulsa, OK, Gayle Davis and husband, Kenneth of Broken Arrow, OK, and Mark Exendine and wife, Penny of Sand Springs, OK; grandchildren, Randi Davis and husband, Mike of San Antonio, TX, Ashley Exendine-Homans and husband, Michael of Del Rio, TX, Lucy Davis of Broken Arrow, OK, Randy Davis of Moore, OK, and Jeff Davis and wife, Angela of Felton, DE; and great grandchildren, Rzeznik Davis, Stella Davis, Alexandria Davis and Steffanie Davis.Mark, Penny, Twyla, and Gayle would like to thank the nurses and staff of Evergreen Hospice for their care and compassion. Billy Jack was laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
