Billy James Ward's Obituary
Billy James Ward, 84, of Tulsa went to be with the Lord Tuesday March 11, 2014. Billy was born July 9, 1929 in Adair County, Oklahoma to James and Clara Ward. He moved to Tulsa at a young age where he resided the rest of his life. Billy was a graduate of Will Rogers High School. After graduating he joined the military and served in the Korean War. Billy served in the Army National Guard and ultimately retired with the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Billy married Tava Jo Butler in 1954. Together they and owned and operated Logan Smith Pluming in Tulsa ; while raising their family. Billy is preceded in passing by his parents; wife Tava; brother Walton and sister Bettie. Billy is survived by son Billy James Ward Jr. and his wife Leslie; daughter Susan Faye Whitley and her husband Tony; grandchildren Ray Dean Whitley, Jennifer Michelle Harris, Russell James Ward; great-grandchildren Ezekiel and Dayton. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southside Rotary, Day Spring Villa, Brookside Baptist Church of Tulsa or Rejoice Baptist Church of Owasso.
